Western Canadian Hunting Listings:

SE. British Columbia, BC Outfitter #4,

Offering hunting options for: Elk; Moose; Grizzly and Black bear; Whitetail & Mule Deer; Mountain Goat; Cougar in Southern British Columbia in the Kootenay region.

We are the exclusive outfitter in a territory encompassing approx. 600 sq. miles of pristine mountain terrain. Game species are hunted by horseback from 3 log cabins and 6 wall tent spike camps. A signigicant area of our territory is in a restricted non-motorized part of the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy. We restrict our hunts to a max. 6 guests at a time.

Rocky Mountain Elk (our specialty)
Rutting, bugling, charging elk are hunted from Sept. 1 - early Oct. Late season migrating elk are hunted until Oct. 20. Only 6 spike elk are harvested, ensuring abundant quality bulls for the future. Elk are hunted from horseback in remote alpine basins, avalanche slides, and sprice parkland.

Rocky Mountain Goat
We target "big" mature billies. We only harvest 1 or 2 goasts per year. Hunters with the will and desire can be rewarded with Boone and Crockett class trophies. Goats season is Sept. - end of Nov. in high mountain basins.

Black Bear
Black bears are hunted during both spring and fall seasons. Clinets join us for some of the most fun hunting possible during our spring black bera hunts. Blacks are spotted in similar habitat to grizzlies during spring. Spring days spent viewing 10 plus bears are noy uncommon. Spring bear hunting days are warm and long. We have numerous color phases of blacks including cinnamon, blonde, chocolate, and black with white. We target big mature boars in the 6 foot plus range. Black bears are included on most of our fall hunts, and are often harvested on slides and in huckleberry patches. Black bear hunting success runs near 100%.

Grizzly Bear
Spring grizzly hunting - adrenaline rushing, heart pounding excitement. Grizzles are spotted and stalked to within range for our hunters. Typically the big boars are found frequenting lush green avalanche slide chutes and riparian areas. We harvest only 1 grizzly per year and boast excellent success on big boars. This hunts takes place between May 10 and June 5.

Mule Deer
Big mulie bucks are hunted from Sept. 1 to Nov. 15. Mule deer are included with our elk, goat, and moose hunts. We also offer mule deer/black bear combos hunts as well as Mule/whitetail hunts in Nov. The big bucks typically are found near to where the goasts are. Late season hunts in the snow and during the rut are challenging and thrilling. We only harvest 4 point + mule bucks, ensuring continued trophy class animals..

Shiras Moose
Many people like to hunt shiras moose after they have taken the larger Alaskian and N. B.C. moose.
2004 saw a guest take the largest moose ever with us     another picture of this fine animal

Late season Rut Mule and Whitetail Deer
Top quality hunts. Good bucks are taken as the migration of deer with snow combines to make this a top quality hunt. The hunt is from base with a 4x4 and walking. Another deer can be added.

Cougar
are hunted from Dec. - Feb. Professional houndsmen and their experienced cougar hounds pursue the big cats across the elk and deer winter ranges in our territory. Fresh snow, big lion tracks, and baying hounds; what could be better then that?

    ARCTIC Outfitter #1, Northwest Territories

For centuries man has hunted the vast treeless habitat of the Central Canadian Barren Ground Caribou. You can now be part of this ancient rite on the uninhabited frontier.

We speak your language, take care of you, and know what you want! Arctic grizzly, muskox, wolf, wolverine, fishing and world-class caribou hunts.

This is the best combination of game, service, accommodations and pure adventure in the NWT barrengrounds Operating in an absolutely remote location, you will be amazed at the abundance of game, fish and exhilarating scenery!

This is your opportunity for an "Adventure of a Lifetime."

Obstruction Rapids our main camp is unparalleled in its success rate.
Over the past 6 years, 90% of our clients have taken Boone and Crockett or Pope and Young trophies, and 6 of the top 11 Safari Club trophies! Plus we still hold the worlds records for Safari Club and Longhunt (blackpowder). No other outfitter can match our consistent track record, so why look elsewhere? At 185 miles north of Yellowknife, (50 miles south of the Arctic circle) with access only by air, this camp is situated on a high bluff overlooking Lake Providence.

It is not uncommon to have over 7,000 caribou within 3 miles of the main camp.

Only two miles away lies the historic Caribou crossing... the only one available to the animals in 145 miles of the Coppermine River. This assures you of plentiful animals in the area. We expect you to see at least 1,000 caribou from which to make a selection, and at times many more! You will be accompanied by one of our guides, all of which are tops in their ability to field score and assist you in any way.

It is not uncommon to see over 15,000 caribou walked through our camp.

Wolf and wolverine are seen frequently and occasionally taken; ptarmigan are always found behind the camp and make for some interesting sport in the evening.

    FANTASTIC FISHING
Huge Lake Trout (biggest was 47 pounds, Arctic Grayling averaged 3+ pounds, and ravenous Northern Pike (4 feet in length) abound in the waters of Lake Providence. 45 miles in length it is virtually virgin fishing and will thrill you with many hours of pure excitement. By practicing catch-and-release, you will be assured of great fishing for eternity. We're confident that record-size fish will continue to be taken by our sportsmen! "Where else can you catch over 100 fish in an afternoon?"

Across the lake from camp is an ancient Inuit ( Eskimo ) campsite, one of the largest known! Further down the lake stand Inukshuks, the eerie stone left behind by ancient cultures thousands of years ago! For those of you interested in the Sir John Franklin expedition of 1821, we have located the grave of one of his men, Mr. Hood. You will want to bring lots of film to capture your memories and the tranquillity of the Barren-grounds, resplendent in its kaleidoscope of autumn colors.

Picture a vibrant sunset every evening and as darkness encroaches, the sky comes alive in a blaze of glory... the famous Aurora Borealis... the Northern Lights. Bring lots of film to record your memories.

More game then you will see anywhere else in North America!

In our opinion this is the best NWT Outfitter in Canada

If you are interested in hunting caribou in the arctic this is your destination
