MIRAMICHI GRAY RAPIDS LODGE, New Brunswick
Miramichi Gray Rapids Lodge is a 3.5 star, totally winterized, full service, ALL SEASON SPORTING RESORT. We have gained international recognition as a mecca of quality sport for the outdoor enthusiasts, searching for the ultimate in fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon and hunting for Whitetail Deer, Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock We also offer a selection of combination packages including big game on request.
Atlantic Salmon Fly Fishing Nearly half of the Atlantic Salmon taken on rod and reel in North America, in an average year, are taken on the mighty Miramichi and its major tributaries. As you might expecy, it also has the largest runs of Salmon in North America.
We are located on the most productive branch of the river system, the Main Southwest Mirimichi, 5 miles below Blackville and just above tide influence. This ensures that you are fishing the strongest fighting and brightest Salmon, Salmon that have not seen many flies and are at the height of their form, having just entered the river system before they move upstream in their quest for spawning grounds.
Gray Rapids is one of the first resorts on the river where it is narrow enough and shallow enough to effectively cover the holding lies by wading. During spring Salmon fishing (April15 thru May) the Salmon are nearing tide water on their way back to the ocean and are feeding on the spring smelt run. We have a great fishing advantage in that the upper reaches, including major tributaries such as the Cains and Bartholomew Rivers, pass in front of the lodge ensuring the maximum number of fish available during the spring season. Guarantees of hooking the BIG Salmon are impossible anywhere, but this is as good as it gets.
Combination fishing and hunting packages are $949 - 3 days; $1,749 weekly
3 day hunting or fishing packages start at $799 US
7 day trips are available for $1,549 US fishing or hunting

AWESOME LAKE LODGE, Newfoundland
The resource is all Eastern "brookies" - in a pure trout environment
- which means no Northern Pike, no whitefish, indeed no other species. The system is inaccessible to other species due to a 20 foot vertical falls at the
base of English River, some 30 miles or so from our lake. And the sizes of these trout are
fantastic. Specimens of five to six pounds are common, and guests have reported the catching and releasing of some trout exceeding 8 pounds. In the last several years,
witnesses claim to have seen specimens that are at least as
large as the present world record (14 pounds, eight ounces). Is it
any wonder we call it "Awesome Lake"?
Angling is by "fly fishing only," with catch-and-release of all but one trophy fish for your stay. Barbless hooks or flattened barbs are required. We have fished the site only sparingly, at various times of the short summer between "ice out" in mid-June to the first week of September, and the angling has always been successful for us.
Awesome Lake is nestled beneath peaks of the second-highest mountain range in Labrador, the Mealy Mountains. Pockets of snow continually melt to feed the lake and 25-mile English River system throughout the summer. The clear, cool water helps maintain a stable environment to keep our brook trout active.
The serenity and natural beauty of the Labrador wilderness is accented by the calls of loons, sightings of caribou, dancing of Northern Lights, and breathtaking Labrador sunsets.
We limit our clients to a maximum of 8 anglers per week. Guides (one per two anglers), accommodations, charter aircraft, and all meals included. 85-mile "fly-in" from Goose Bay, Labrador.
Your host Len Rich at Awesome Lake Lodge he is one of the best sources for information in the whole region.

The salmon season runs from April 15 to October 15
Spring salmon fishing (April 15 - June 1) is a great way to introduce the atr of salmon fishing to the beginner. Landings of 10 to 20 salmon per day are not uncommon. Fishing is by fly only and done in boats, accompanied by a guide.
These fish have remained upstraem all winter and now on their way back to the ocean. They tend to be very hungry and will strike at anything.

This monster of a salmon is not uncommon to the area. You
will be catching great fish that stories will never come close to. Without
this picture, would you believe it?
During their trip upstream, the fish rest in natural depressions in the river bed, called "pools", and it is here where they are fished. Fishermen wade the periphery of the pools, casting their line in a systematic manner, and hope to attract fish.
The Miramichi Lodge offers Regular and Delux plans for summer and fall fishing: regular plans start at $250 per day; with the deluxe paln at $350. They also offer a 1 day no accomadation package at $225 for the day.

NUNAMI LODGE, N. Quebec
"Only one word could sum up the fishing during our 1998 season"
Our first season started on July 15th with the official opening of Nunami Lodge. Nunami's 1st sport fishing week was the culmanation of 3 years of hard work and reserach in coooperation with the Inuit people of Kujjuarapik. We were finally ready and everything was in place for the beginning of this truly remarkable adventure
Very rarely, in this day and age, do fishermen get the opportunity to explore and discover virgin waters while contributing to the development of a unique sport fishing venture. Through prior exploration and research, we knew that we had an excellent fishing territory, but 1998's results were beyond our expectations. Most of our clients expressed to us that the brook trout fishing was of world class quality and we could be on our way to a dream come true. Sure, we still have things to learn, and adjustments to make to our over all product, but one thing is for sure, "Nunami is here to stay and has some of the best brook trout fishing in North America."
1998 Brook Trout: The largest brook trout caught and weighed was around 8 pounds and as usual there were many stories of the bigger ones that got away. Many 5 - 7 pound brookies were caught. Seeing as we practice catch and release policies at the lodge it makes exact weights difficult. Many of our guests broke their own personal records on numbers and size of brookies caught, with saying that it was the best fishing that they had ever experienced. They rated the conditions for dry fly fishing as excellent. The brook trout would go after just about anything the fisherman had on his line. With the muddler minnow being the ultimate fly.
Helicopter Fishing: Nunami became the First Lodge in Northern Quebec to offer helicopter fishing. For 3 weeks during the fishing season we had the services of a Long Jet Ranger. Many of the rapids or sections of rivers adjacent to our lodge that are not accessible by boat or float aircraft were visitied by our helicopter. The fishing results stemming from our helicopter explorations were incredible. Helicopter fishing offers people with various handicaps the opportunity to access virgins waters, while eliminating long walks on slippery or rocky shorelines. Within a 15 mile radius of the Lodge, we observed countless pools and rapids that could be fished only by helicopter. Long stretches of the Small Whale River, which by the way, is a fly fishing paridisew, could be covered in very short periods of time.
Lake Trout: The largest lake trout landed was 32 pounds. Many that went over 25 pounds were caught. Many of our guests came back to the lodge with sore arms after catching so many big fish
Northern Pike: Various lakes and water systems of the Mollet lake water shed are home to Northern Pike. The largest pike caught was 15 pounds, but judging by some of the teeth marks found in our large lake trout there seems to be a stable population of pike in our area. Most of our fishermen were seeking large brook trout but a few adventurous spirits wanted to round out their adventure with a northern on a fly.
Fishing Packages are $2,295 US
The Mollet Lake region where we operate is considered to be the a caribou bull regrouping area where the bull to cow ratio is 3 to 1. Prior hunting results around the lodge and analysis of the surrounding territories has proven this fact. Contrary to many of the outfitters of northern Quebec, who depend on caribou migrations to satisfy hunters, the Mollet Lake area seems to hold it's bull caribou until rut begins in the month of October. Price is $2,695 US full caribou hunting information is here!
